We encountered this large male in his prime in the very remote Ruaha National Park in Tanzania, just as it was getting dark. He was completely unafraid of our vehicle and the occupants. He looked us over, then sat down on the ground just a few feet away. We were so close that when he vocalized (loudly) in the early evening darkness, we could feel the vibration in our own bodies. No wonder the antelopes are terrorized by the sound!
I am not sure which was more impressive, his magnificent mane, or his very large teeth!
I took the image with a Canon EOS 7D Mark II, with a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS II USM lens with a 1.4x III teleconverter. The exposure settings were 1/800, f/8, ISO 1600, focal length 560 mm, handheld.
