Early Morning Patrol

I met this early morning patrol of a flock of geese on my daily tour through a small nature reserve right in front of our house. At that time of the year we often have this kind of 'right after sunrise fog' with the Spessart mountains almost hidden in the background. The opportunity for taking the photo was - as it is often the case - the result of patience and luck. The geese often take this route around sunrise from one pond to another one, but you have no control of the exact time of arrival and thus the position of the sun, the distance geese and the tree in front as well as the density of the fog and the clouds.
