I had admire these flowers and plants for several years once I had learned about them. I was fortunate to come a cross a large patch of 100’s of plants and dozens of flowers and weather condition that afforded me a liberal allowance of time to compose this image in two film formats in both color and black and white media.

I really enjoy this one. They are called Moonflowers, if you didn't know. Sometimes also, Sacred Datura since the seeds of the plant are a serious hallucinogen. They come out at night and usually wilt off when the sun gets hot.
Nathan, thank you for your comment and info, yes I know this plant well … one season I found myself almost constantly photographing these I begin to wonder if it was just images I was after?
Ahhhhh... eat some of it and find out! We met a Park Ranger up in Zion, where there are bazillions of them, who said she would not even touch the plant without being fully gloved. I have read that school kids will harvest the seeds and smoke them. Not I said the duck.
Nathan, I'm not surprise, a Paiute friend used to say you're protected by your ignorance, I don't believe that phrase apply to this plant. It has a powerful spirit and it needs to be respected.
Paul, congrats on having your image chosen as photo of the day. It is a fine quality Black & White image with a beautiful range of tones and contrast. Well deserved.

Thank you marius your comment means a lot to me!
I think these are called Morning Glories? and can grow wild in some places. Great capture with a soft light that brings out a nice texture.
Christina, I'm sure many may call it that and that's a problem with common names. This is Datura wrightii the plant's Latin name, and it has many common names and in some lists you may even fine 'Morning Glory', among others, Angel's Trumpet, Moon Lily, Sacred Datura, etc.
