How to Get Better Edges in Sky Replacements in Photoshop

Sky replacements tools have become increasingly automated and more proficient in the last few years, and they are now at the point where a task that used to take 10 minutes or so now takes a few short clicks for most cases. One thing that remains an issue, however, is getting convincing edges. This helpful video tutorial will show you how to improve the edges of your sky replacements when using Photoshop.

Coming to you from Matt Kloskowski, this excellent video tutorial will show you how to create cleaner edges when performing a sky replacement in Photoshop. While landscape scenes with simple horizons (such as a seascape or flat field) will generally not give you many issues, more complicated images, such as those with foliage through which the sky shows, can be particularly tricky to get right. It is well worth taking the extra time to tweak these, though, as off-kilter edges can be a dead giveaway even for untrained eyes and can ruin the entire replacement. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Kloskowski.
