Can Sigma Dethrone This Impressive Fujifilm Lens?

Sigma has finally arrived on the Fujifilm X mount, and it has photographers excited at the prospect of using the company's popular lenses that are well known for providing excellent image quality at impressively competitive prices. One such example is the affordable 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary, and this fantastic video review compares it to the XF 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR to see which provides better performance and image quality.

Coming to you from John Branch IV Photography, this great video comparison takes a look at the Fujifilm XF 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR and Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lenses. At $339, the 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary significantly undercuts the $799 price of the XF 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR, making it a head-turning option. And, of course, with roughly 50mm-equivalent focal lengths and wide apertures, both are quite versatile. Regardless of which you prefer, it is great to see Sigma working with a new mount, as quality third-party lenses keep pressure on first-party to continually innovate and evolve in tandem with keeping prices more competitive. Hopefully, we will see Sigma to continue to expand their offerings even further in the future. Check out the video above for the full rundown.

I wish reviewers were not afraid of their real options and take a side.

I liked the Fuji lens rendering best most of the shots . The Sigma has blacker blacks and renders her skin more white . There was less microcontrast I believe in the Sigma . Either would produce great photos .
The Sigma lens is approximately a 45mm equivalent in ff and the Fujifilm 49mm .
So you like the closer to the human eyes vision of approximately 42mm vs the standard 50mm .
I like 40 , 55 and 65mm fov myself. But some folks can make the 50 so desirable.

Don’t waste your time watching this there’s no conclusion by the producer.

Trying to judge images in 4K highly compressed YT videos is like looking through tracing paper. There's virtually no telling which one is 'better', without guidance from the maker. Sure, you can see differences but usually they don't predict what the real-life result will be...
