Coming to you from Gordon Laing, this great video review takes a look at the new Canon EOS R3. The EOS R3 is quite the impressive camera, offering a 24.1-megapixel backside-illuminated sensor with 30 fps continuous bursts and blackout-free shooting, along with 6K 60p raw video and 4K 120p, 10-bit video with no crop. In addition, users can expect up to eight stops of in-body image stabilization, Deep Learning technology for better eye and body detection, and eye-controlled autofocus.
No doubt, the EOS R3 is massively impressive and another big step forward for Canon as it continues an aggressive push to go toe to toe with Sony on the mirrorless front. The EOS R5 is already a very capable and popular camera that can certainly satisfy the needs of many shooters, but the EOS R3 looks to offer some features and advanced capabilities that distinguish it in a way that will give certain genres a distinct advantage. Will you be preordering the new EOS R3?
This camera certainly sets the standard. It may be insignificant, but did you notice the mount? Is that brass? It does look a bit worn. I'd like to know how this camera performs in real-life situations where you have to quickly switch between modes (A, S, M) or the type of metering (spot, matrix, centre) or autofocus (different modes, single or continous) or single to continuous shooting.
I can't imagine what the R1 will bring.
