A First Look at the New MacBook Air

Apple recently announced the new MacBook Air, which brings with it a range of notable new features and improvements, including the company's latest SOC, the M2. This great video takes a first look at the new computer and everything you can expect from it in real-world usage.

Coming to you from Marques Brownlee, this great video takes a first look at the new MacBook Air. The new model represents a significant upgrade to Apple's most popular computer. Of course, the most notable upgrade is the new M2 chip with 10-core GPU (2 more than the M1) and support for up to 24 GB of unified memory. Beyond that, the laptop's famous tapered profile has been replaced with a sleek, flat design.

The popular MagSafe design makes a return. The laptop also features two Thunderbolt ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack that supports high-impedance headphones. The keyboard comes with a full-height function row with Touch ID, while the body is rounded out by the large Force Touch trackpad.

The Liquid Retina display has been enlarged to 13.6 inches, gained support for 1 billion colors, and is now 25% brighter. Complementing that is a 1080p FaceTime HD camera and four-speaker system. Finally, the new Air offers up to 18 hours of battery life and 67-watt fast-charging that gives a 50% boost in 30 minutes.
