A Game-Changing Bit of Kit for Your Outdoor Photography

Have you ever had one of those bits of kit that you never thought you'd need, but once you got one, you couldn’t imagine going without it? That’s exactly what happened with this heated fleece jacket—a game-changer for anyone who spends long hours outdoors capturing stunning landscapes or waiting patiently for wildlife shots.

Staying warm with your gear in hand can be the defining factor in you getting the shots you are after—unless you live in a place that is hot all the time, of course. But in the UK, where Andy spends his time out and about shooting, it can get pretty cold pretty fast. The cold can become a real challenge, cutting your shoots short or making the experience uncomfortable.

This heated fleece that Andy showcases is designed to keep you warm so you can focus on getting the perfect shot rather than worrying about going numb from the cold or shivering so much you scare away the birds. It features heated panels in the front, back, and even the collar—perfect for shielding your neck from icy winds. The fleece runs on a 10,000 mAh battery, giving you all-day warmth, and allows separate controls for front and back heating.

Beyond just warmth, the fleece is windproof and water-resistant, making it a solid outer layer even on mild days when the heating isn’t necessary. It’s compact enough to fit in a camera bag, meaning you don’t have to carry multiple bulky layers. The battery life holds up impressively well, lasting for hours even on higher settings, and charges quickly so you're never left out in the cold.

I appreciate how this video highlights an often overlooked truth: our best images come when we're physically present and mentally focused. While not as glamorous as new glass or a fancy camera, investing in comfort pays creative dividends when it matters most.

I have multiple heated jackets, vests, gloves, and socks by Ororo. Living in Wisconsin, they are one of the best purchases I have made in quite a while. Standing in one place with the tripod has become a bit more bearable in the depths of winter thanks to heated apparel.

After watching this video I must say I am pretty sold on the idea myself. I think when this summer is over I will have a look at see what I can get my hands on. Cheers

One suggestion. Your link is generic for heated vests. I had to read the label on your jacket to find the brand you are wearing. Maybe change the link to Gokozy store on Amazon.

Thanks Mike, I will do that ASAP! Cheers
