Coming to you from Alex Barrera, this great video review takes a look at the Sony FE 40mm f/2.5 G and Sony FE 24mm f/2.8 G lenses. Both quite portable and modestly price, the 40mm f/2.5 and 24mm f/2.8 are interesting options for photographers who do not want the hassle or cost of more extreme designs. Nonetheless, they both come with some useful features. The 40mm f/2.5 brings with it:
- Manual aperture ring
- Three aspherical elements for increased sharpness and less aberrations and distortion
- Rounded seven-blade diaphragm for smoother bokeh
- Two linear motors for fast and quiet autofocus suitable for photos and video
- Customizable focus hold button
- Declickable aperture for video work
- Dust- and moisture-sealing
Meanwhile, the 24mm f/2.8 offers:
- Three aspherical elements for decreased distortions and increased sharpness
- One extra-low dispersion glass element for reduced chromatic aberrations and improved clarity
- Rounded seven-blade diaphragm for smoother bokeh
- Two linear motors for fast and quiet autofocus suitable for both photo and video work
- De-clickable aperture ring for video work
- Linear Response manual focus control with corresponding AF/MF switch
- Customizable focus hold buttons
- 0.19x maximum magnification
- Dust- and moisture-sealed design
- Fluorine-coated front element

I picked up the Sony FE 24mm f/2.8 G Lenses a couple years back and I love it. I mostly use it for video work with a gimbal, but it's a great lens for photos as well. It's super small, non obtrusive, and easy to keep in your bag. The manual aperture ring is a nice touch, especially with the de-click switch.
