Wide-aperture 50mm lenses are quite versatile, able to fill the needs of photographers in a wide variety of scenarios. For Sony shooters, FE 50mm f/1.2 GM offers top-of-the-line design in tandem with a very wide maximum aperture, making it an intriguing option for anyone looking for that narrow depth of field look and great image quality to match. This excellent video review takes a look at the lens and the sort of image quality and performance you can expect from it in practice.

Coming to you from Jacek Sopotnicki, this great video review takes a look at the Sony FE 50mm f/1.2 GM lens. As part of Sony's G Master line, the 50mm f/1.2 GM comes with a great feature set, including:

  • Three XA (extreme aspherical) elements for less distortion and better sharpness
  • Nano AR Coating II for less flares and ghosting and deeper contrast
  • Four XD Linear motors for quick autofocus
  • Linear Response manual focus control
  • Customizable Focus Hold button
  • De-clickable aperture ring for video work
  • Dust- and moisture-sealed construction and fluorine coating on front element
  • Rounded 11-blade diaphragm for smoother bokeh

Altogether, the 50mm f/1.2 looks like quite the impressive lens. Check out the video above for Sopotnicki's full thoughts on it.
