At just 5.3 ounces (151 g), the 28mm f/5.6 is remarkably small (and rather pleasing to look at), but, of course, it uses a rather simple optical design to be so portable. This means you should not expect top-shelf image quality out of it, though it is worth considering other characteristics that make it desirable. With such a discreet footprint, a wide focal length, and a narrow maximum aperture, the 28mm f/5.6 seems like it is ideal for street photography, especially if you are an "f/8 and be there" sort of shooter who values a lens that is easy to use and that stays out of your way over one that is clinically sharp.
