Want to Charge Your Camera Twice as Fast? Then Check Out These llano Chargers and Batteries

Have you ever wanted to charge your camera batteries twice as fast? How about charging two of them from 0 to 100% in two and a half hours? Well, you've heard me say it before, but I love trying out new gear and finding absolute treasures to share with you all. Check out my latest find: the llano Fast Dual Camera Battery Charging Kit.

llano (yes, with two lowercase l's) has two devices that I think you all will enjoy, so I've tested both. The first that I will talk about is the llano Fast Dual Camera Battery Charger. This 18 W QC3.0 and PD3.0 technology-enabled charger works as a case that opens up, and you insert your batteries to charge them. Seems simple, right? Well, the special thing about this is that this charging case is designed for camera batteries, and each one is specialized to a certain camera battery type. I tried the kit that is for Sony FZ100 batteries. It comes with two batteries, a case, a type-C charging cable, and a pouch to keep it all in. You get all of this for less than $100. I'm not kidding. You're getting two batteries and a charger for less than the cost of one OEM battery. Not only that, but these are not junk off-brand batteries; instead, they are over twice as fast to charge. I've been using them in my camera for over a month without a single issue. No overheating, no weirdness—they just work.

It blows my mind that not only is this charger 58% faster than a regular charger, but it also charges two batteries at the same time. I used to put one OEM battery on my regular charger when I went to bed, then put another one on in the morning, and have an endless cycle of rotating them all until charged. So annoying, and so quickly solved with this kit!

High Quality in a Small Package

The charging case for the battery kits has a soft matte material, and it's very straightforward to use. On the front is a button to turn it on. With the batteries inserted into the case, a digital display tells you the exact percentage of charge left on your battery. No more guessing how many light dots are lit up and how much could possibly be left—you get an exact number. The case itself is even a convenient way to store your batteries, so they're not rattling around in your bag.

So, you might be wondering what's the catch. But there isn't one. I did the research for you, and llano has earned over 10 Red Dot Design Awards and holds appearance patents, including over 50 industry-leading national patents since 2012. They export to over 100 countries worldwide and have been featured in numerous tech publications.

Wattage Matters

Really, the only possible downside to know is that the batteries for this case go with the case. So, if you have other non-OEM branded batteries, check their stats first. If the wattage of your other batteries doesn't match that of the llano ones the kit comes with, they probably won't work in this fast charger kit. For me personally, I only had OEM batteries, so switching to this was easy, and I've been using it ever since.

Charging On The Go

So, you might remember I mentioned that there were two products that llano has that I wanted to share with you all. We've talked about the llano Fast Dual Camera Battery Charger that's meant to be plugged into the wall, just like you would with any other charger. Well, for photographers on the go, llano has another solution: the llano 2-in-1 NP-FZ100 Fast Camera Dual Battery Portable Charger.

This second product is also a fast charger, but this one is larger because it includes an internal 20 W 12,400 mAh cell portable battery. When you charge the llano 2-in-1 NP-FZ100 Fast Camera Dual Battery Portable Charger, you're also charging this internal battery, which will give you extra power while on the go. Additionally, not only will it charge your camera's batteries, but you can also plug in and charge other devices like your phone or tablet. And because they thought of everything, this charger has pass-through charging. This means you can charge the internal battery, camera batteries, and two other USB-C items all at the same time. Think of this as your hub for charging everything you can plug into it. Then, once charged, grab it to bring along for extra juice on the go.

The Nitty Gritty Details

The llano 2-in-1 NP-FZ100 Fast Camera Dual Battery Portable Charger is rated as fully charging two FZ100 batteries in less than 2.5 hours. Then, if you're trying to charge the internal battery and two batteries, that will take you about 4 hours and 20 minutes.

Just like the smaller fast charger without an internal battery we looked at first, this second device also has a built-in screen to show you the percentage of the camera batteries that you insert into the device. It'll give you the exact percentage on a digital screen so you have precise information on where those batteries are in their charging cycle. This charger also features the same soft-touch matte exterior as the smaller fast charger.

Multiple Brands Available

Currently, llano has chargers for many Sony, Canon, and Fuji battery types. They mentioned to me that Nikon chargers are coming soon.

Safety First

I know that's a lot of charging to expect from one device, so I will mention that llano chargers also have ample safety measures. You're protected with thermal optimization and short-circuit prevention in case you have a power surge from whatever outlet you're charging it from. In fact, both chargers provide complete protection, including temperature control, over-voltage, short-circuit, overcharge, and surge protection for you and your devices.

Can't Decide?

The difference between the two llano devices is that the llano 2-in-1 NP-FZ100 Fast Camera Dual Battery Portable Charger is larger because it includes an internal battery. The other difference is that as a kit, the 2-in-1 does not come with camera batteries. You would just charge the OEM batteries that you already own.

So, you can do what I did and snag both, that way you have either depending on your circumstance. Are you photographing on the go and might need extra battery power? Then grab the larger 2-in-1 charger. Are you just doing a quick photoshoot? Then grab the smaller fast charger when you don't need that extra battery power on the go. Either way, the speed of these chargers is 58% faster than a regular charger, and they will get you back to photographing faster than ever.

I've bought one of these for my Canon LPE6 batteries (the standard one without the internal battery). I've got a varied mix of 3rd party batteries and one Canon original. All of them charge perfectly, no overheating issues, no worries at all.
BTW, the 'on/off' button might cause confusion as it really only gets the LED display to turn on. The display turns off after about 10 seconds when just storing the batteries in the case. Pressing the button just fires up the LED to show the battery status.
I've not done any hard testing against my other 3rd party duel charger, but this case works perfectly well, looks neat and feels like it will last a good while.

Hi John, Thank you for taking the time to write in and let us know that you have been using the llano chargers perfectly with your 3rd party batteries. The version that I tested was the Sony unit. Your feedback is great info to share as it helps inform Canon users that you also enjoyed the chargers and had no issues. Also, your note about the power button is spot on. Thank you for helping clarify any confusion. As you explained, the on button is for activating the unit so that you can review the current power status on the screen.
