Adobe, in addition to announcing Q3 earnings which look to be a little lower than anticipated (but the stock is still doing quite well), also announced the availability of the Photoshop Photography Program that was revealed a couple weeks ago. To remind those of you who missed it, you can get a bundle specific to photographers for $9.99.
Announced today on their blog:
"Today we’re announcing the availability of the Photoshop Photography Program. Customers who own a perpetual Photoshop CS3-CS6 license are eligible to receive all of the following for US $9.99/month with a 12-month commitment:
Photoshop CC
Lightroom 5
20 GB of online storage
Behance ProSite
Access to Creative Cloud Learn’s training resources
Ongoing upgrades and updates"
For those of you who were eagerly awaiting this availability, you can get it now.
I was just to rent the bundle... but then I read this:
The price is valid for a full 12 months. After that, we'll renew your contract automatically, at the then-current price of the offering, unless you cancel. The price is subject to change, but we will always notify you beforehand.
What do you guys think? I pay 9.99 for the first year and then it could be the "normal" price right?
That's highly likely, especially considering the "limited time offer" tagline they are slapping on it.
That said, you do get a year pretty affordable. If you don't have anything, it's probably worth it.
Can I install CS6 and CC side by side? So I can uninstall the cc if I dont like the price anymore....Anybody tried that?
I'm pretty certain you can. I did. I still have CS6 on a computer currently also running CC.
Just know that the files made in CC won't open in CS6 unless you save them down.
Mostly I use tiff ;) But thank you for the hint!
Ah you bet. I use InDesign a lot so once I go forward, it's tough to go back.
thats what I'm a bit scared of...I'll just order two Hensel strobes tomorrow and then I will decide :-P
your telling bullshit.
a TIF saved from CS6 won´t open in CC ....or a PSD? LOL
get a clue what you are talking about!
I use CS 5 and CC with no problem.
is it just me, or are none of the adobe links not working?
Would be an AWESOME day if I was eligible. D:
Didn't work with my student version or CS6, says the serial was not eligible. Lame.
Same here, very annoying. It would have been cheaper to have bought the none student version in the long run
I was about to pull the trigger, but I want to pay for a year in advance and not have to think about the monthly payment. They say you can do annual on Amazon, but that is not true. And Adobe does not offer a 12 months pay in full option through their website. Still on the fence and not breaking out my credit card. LR 5.2 and CS6 work just fine.
I thought it was $9.99 forever.. i guess not :(
Adobe is saying it's not introductory and will continue at $9.99, however they are careful not say "forever" claiming inflation possibilities.
I must have missed that this deal is not valid for those who are or were Volume Licensing customers. I tried to enter our serial number from our Volume License and it gave me a no go (even though we don't need the volume license anymore).. Sure enough the terms exclude education, OEM, and Volume license customers.. http://ow.ly/oY9Dp
Tough decision to make. I already upgraded to CS6 and LR5. $120/year is fine. $240+ isn't. My problem is that if I commit to CC, I probably won't be able to maintain photoshop files created under CC with CS6. In any event, I will wait until December before deciding to max out the one year at $120/year.
I'll be staying away from this,Adobe is hurting and let them hurt.. I wont spend another cent with Adobe until such a time that they issue full licenses,Sunny skies for me only,No clouds..
dont trust adobe.
this is just fishing for noobs.
read the contract carefully!!
and as usual outside the USA you pay much more.....
Then they wonder why people pirate their software. They are pricing is way over the top, with many programs starting to catch up at a fraction of the price. If they would make the price reasonable then most of the pirates would go for a legit copy and they wouldn't have to do this stupid cloud thing. I know guys who own a legit copy of LR and a pirate version of CS6 and it's all due to pricing.
