Godox X3Pro Flash Trigger Launched: Touchscreen Control for Professional Lighting

The Godox X3Pro is a new TTL wireless flash trigger promising unprecedented control. It brings a 2.4-inch touchscreen, control over four groups, and expanded per-light adjustments to your lighting workflow.

The Godox X3Pro TTL Wireless Flash Trigger expands Godox’s lighting control line with features aimed at professional photographers. Central to its design is a 2.4-inch touchscreen, providing immediate access to a suite of controls for Godox’s 2.4 GHz Wireless X system. Compared to the non-Pro X3, this new model features a larger touchscreen for greater control over flash functions.

This new trigger acts as a command center, displaying up to four lighting groups simultaneously for real-time monitoring. It also supports control of up to 16 groups, allowing photographers to instantly apply unified parameters across all groups or select individual units for precise refinement. This level of granular control extends to each lighting group, enabling independent adjustment of TCM, Zoom settings, and modeling lamp settings. The system allows users to save and instantly recall complex settings, streamlining setup times in demanding scenarios.

Underpinning the X3Pro’s capabilities is the established Godox 2.4 GHz Wireless X system, offering a wide transmission range and interference-resistant channel scanning. With support for 16 groups and 32 channels, it ensures reliable triggering and precision deployment of lights, even in high-density shooting environments.

The X3Pro also offers specialized shooting modes, including One-Shoot for straightforward setups, All-Shoot for group sessions, and L-858 Mode for integration with Sekonic L-858 light meters.

Connectivity is further enhanced with Bluetooth integration, allowing the X3Pro to pair with the Godox Flash App. This provides complete wireless control from a phone or tablet, enabling remote power adjustments, group settings, and flash triggering—particularly useful when the trigger unit itself isn’t easily accessible.

Beyond flash control, the X3Pro offers creative shutter control, allowing users to program single-shot, time-lapse, and long-exposure sequences directly through its touchscreen interface. Exposure duration, intervals, and shot count can be customized, with triggering via the PC sync port or optional Godox XR/TR-RX receivers to minimize camera body vibration.

Designed for portability, the X3Pro features a compact build. It is powered by a built-in lithium battery, offering up to a month of standby time on a single charge. USB-C charging allows for a full recharge in approximately two hours.

For expanded functionality, the optional Godox XR Receiver unlocks wireless shutter control and universal flash triggering. This allows the X3Pro to wirelessly trigger Canon, Nikon, and Sony flashes with full TTL support or activate any studio strobe via its sync port, integrating diverse lighting gear into the Godox Wireless X system. When paired with the XR Receiver, the X3Pro can also remotely control camera functions like exposure time, shooting intervals, and shot count for advanced photography techniques.

I’m personally excited to try this out. I’ve been using the Godox X3 for the last couple of months with great results, but a larger screen feels like a natural evolution of this form factor.

The Godox X3Pro is available in versions compatible with Canon (C), Sony (S), Nikon (N), Fujifilm (F), and OM SYSTEM / Panasonic (O) cameras. It weighs approximately 103 g and has dimensions of 2.13" × 2.6" × 1.61".

Included in the box:

  • Flash trigger
  • USB Type-C cable
