It can be difficult to do this simply because a freelance business does not offer the inherent daily structure of something like a corporate job, and so, it is up to us to impose our own structures. I have always found that it helps to schedule important tasks that might otherwise fall by the wayside at regular intervals. For example, I know I have to stay on top of finances, but it is really easy for me to forget to update my website, so I put a recurring monthly reminder in my to-do list to do so.
