DaVinici Resolve for iPad Now Available

Video post-production leader DaVinci Resolve has just released its newest version for iPad.

I’ve been using DaVinci Resolve as my primary video editor and color suite for the last several years. I have the DaVinci Resolve Studio version on my laptop and desktop to handle all my post-production needs. Today, Blackmagic Design is bringing those capabilities to the mobile world with DaVinci Resolve for iPad which should allow on-the-go editors and filmmakers flexibility to get the job done even when the office is far away.

The software is available as a free download from the Apple iOS App Store. The program is optimized for the iPad Pro with the M1 and M2 chips. It includes the cut page, allowing you to edit your projects on the go — great for those on a tight deadline. There is also a DaVinci Resolve for iPad color page similar to the one you would find on the desktop edition. The iPad version still allows you functionality such as PowerWindows, qualifiers, 3D tracking, and advanced HDR grading. The mobile app features DaVinci Resolve’s AI processing powered by the DaVinci Neural Engine. This helps with things such as the magic mask and smart reframe actions.

You can check the program out in the Apple Store today. The base app is free to download. Those wanting to upgrade to the DaVinci Resolve Studio on the iPad version can do so through a one off in-app purchase for $95.

What do you think? Are you excited to take your show on the road?

Constantly crash. :(

Been using the hack FULL version for almost a month now with my M1 iPad, no crashes for me. Which task were you doing when it crashes?
