The Fstoppers 2011 BTS Contest is now closed and we are going through every single video 1 by 1 to choose our favorites that will make it to the next round. In the next round our panel of celebrity judges will narrow the lot down to the top 3 winners. At this point we still have not seen every video but if you would like to look through them yourself, you can see them all here on our forum.

I just ran across this really interesting video by Loren Byerstein and Syx Langemann that involved shooting a nude model with a projected pattern. Not only do they show you how they did it but they have actually released the software to make your own patterns easily. If you want to give something like this a try on your own, you can download the software here (file removed by user).

Very cool, I',m planning a projection shoot so this is really timely. Thanks!  Not sure the link to the software is working though??

Fix the download link :)

thanks, got it

I still can't download it :)

Damn you Morris.  This was the one I was going to grab today.  Now I have to go on the hunt again.  :P

nice work guys, enjoyed this one, and sweet 3d tutorials :-D

Yeah, the dl link should be
http://fstoppers.com/dl.dropbox.com/u/11280419/Projector.zip

BTW, kudos to Loren and Syx for having both Mac and PC apps in the zip!

All I can say, is I wish I thought of it first.  Lovely idea.

Thanks Chris!
Glad you are a geek enough to enjoy it and not question why.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. Loren is the man behind the video editing and the graphics. I was pretty impressed myself when I saw the final product!

Very cool... look forward to getting the windows link fixed  "Could not find the main class: processing.app.Base. Program will exit"

wonderfull idea, I'd like to try that ^^

downloaded the windows version of software unfortunately I got same error message as Zeke Man

Syx, I'm curious about why you used the "aperture to control for the brightness of the background". Why not just use the aperture to control for depth of field, and set the background brightness independently using the actual strobes themselves?

The windows projector program will not run, says: "Could not find the main class: processing.app.Base. Program will exit"

wow.  just got this forwarded to me.  would've been nice to get some credit on this. we shot ours a year ago.  ChristopherGabello.com

cannot get the download to work either. Cool idea.

I hade a similar idea some time ago. This makes me wanna go for it! The software is downloaded. Anybody know if there is other similar softwares for free like this?

does anybody have the correct software?

regards

i run the file and nothing happens. maybe a virus / trojan? Can anybody confirm?

carefull, the file looks like a trojan and it probably is. I run the file sandboxed and i did not get no error and no functionality. Typically as a trojan!
