In this Critique the Community, we want to see an image (or images) from a personal project you have completed or are still working on. The goal of a personal project is to explore a new theme in a unique and collective way. A few examples could be a series of portraits of people that are related in some way, a series of photos that use a specific lighting setup, a final image that uses compositing to achieve the final effect, or anything else that has inspired you to create something you otherwise might not create through photography.
As always, each photographer can submit up to three images and only images with descriptions will be chosen for the critique. We want to know how the image was created. How was the concept internalized and executed? Did you use natural light or did you use strobe? Is it real or did you add elements in Photoshop? Are you still working on the project or did you publish it already in some way?
Since this CTC is based around a project, feel free to create a triptych (series of 3 images side by side) as a single entry or simply submit your favorite image from one of your projects and explain how the other images fit in with the submitted photo.
The highest-rated image and one random image will be chosen to get a free tutorial from the Fstoppers Store.
To watch the live critique, make sure you are subscribed to the Fstoppers Live Youtube channel.

Interesting topic. It also seems that there are lot of great photos here. Maybe because it has more a personal subject vibe for a contest.
I turned a child into Ursula… and it got a one star.
I will be very interested in seeing where that person thought I took a snapshot of a half octopus girl.
Do you know my secret? My local aquarium has a octopus girl in the tank right next to the clown fish. I know people think that taking marine life photos at the Aquarium is cheating, but where else can I find A Ursula girl in Ohio?
😅
Everything is about hate. They get bad votes they give bad votes
Proof?
I don’t think I can prove it but it’s just a feeling coz I see same thing on some of my photos. Not the best but at least a 2.5
I certainly don’t take it personally. I look at some of these images such as the ghost in time fine art photo, and I see that it has a sub three star rating, which is clearly ridiculous. So if my image is hovering between a two and three I’m happy.
I wish that the rating system could be improved upon. But ultimately we’re going to get to see what the guys think in the video for a lot of these images, and I think that that holds a lot more value than the star ratings.
That said, I’ve never actually gotten one of my images onto the YouTube show, but I have high hopes for my Disney villains in this competition.
I don’t expect to be the highest rated photo, but if I could get on the show and maybe win a random tutorial, I would count that as a W.😁
Good observation I like it
Hey, Patrick Hall / Lee Morris , just fyi...the whole contest page is missing.

You cannot see this contest on the main page. When will be the critique the community live so I can schedule to view it. Thanks
Angela,
I am glad you asked this. I, too, like to see those broadcasts live, and need to know ahead of time just when they will air, so that I can clear my schedule to ensure that I get to watch it live and not miss the premier.
Same. I check this every day. I’m excited about this one. .. i’ve never made it on the show, but I still like it, and like to learn from the critiques.
Sorry, we went live earlier in the day today. I noticed too that some of our contests weren't showing up on the site but it should be fixed now.
Thanks for the response, Patrick. There's a lot that could be done to make these contests and the post-contest broadcasts better. Lee could interview the winner(s) prior to the broadcast, then he would have a lot of information about them and about the winning images, that he could share in the broadcast. Also, the YouTube account could be managed and updated more intensively, with announcements made for upcoming live broadcasts, where users can choose to receive notifications and reminders about the upcoming broadcast, to ensure that they don't miss it. Tony & Chelsea used to do this really well back when they were doing live broadcasts every week.
