Filmmaker Michael Tapp recently hit me up to share his latest experience with the people you typically find in New York City's Times Square and the Sony A7s. If you haven't spent an evening there, this short documentary (co-produced by Bill Novak) gives you a good sense of what draws 26 million people per year and how the A7s performs under noisy, bright conditions.
I recently picked up a new camera (Sony A7s) and shot a piece on it to put it through the paces. I highly recommend the camera if you haven't already worked with it. All of that footage is shot between 3200 and 8000 iso. I figure if it can handle color and noise in Times Square it can handle almost any scenario.
Michael's short can also be seen on: The Atlantic
Times Square, methinks.
Shit. Thanks Ansel. You would think I would've caught that one having lived a few blocks from there, for years.
Great video. Is that place ever NOT under construction?
Dynamic range is impressive on these A7 series cameras.
Excellent ! What lenses did you use ?
I'm going to shoot a movie with it soon in Italy, and the tests I did at 12kISO to 50kISO are stunning !
Love the genuiness of this video. Pleasure to watch and an unexpected boost to be myself! Thanks.
