When Landscape Photography Adventures Go Wrong

As a landscape photographer and van owner myself, I know just how much goes into every shoot that I head out on, plus the ever-present worry that exists in the back of my mind, where I see myself stuck in the middle of nowhere after my trusty steed has broken down. Recently, I had the misfortune of this exact thing happening, and let me tell you, not only does it pull the handbrake on any adventures, it also adds the complexities of where it can be fixed, if it can be fixed, and finally, how much will it cost to be fixed!

Most landscape photographers will be aware of Thomas Heaton and his consistent churning out of quality landscape content, but did you know that he recently drove his van from his home in the UK, over to Amsterdam, and on to Denmark, before finally getting a long ferry to Iceland? No small feat in any form, however, as he documents his adventures on his highly successful YouTube channel, we can all come along for the ride!

In his latest episode, he shares how his trusty steed actually did develop an issue and what that meant for him, being in a totally foreign country on a trip alone. He also discusses what lies ahead, as he was planning more shoots plus also needs to drive his van back home to the UK.

This video and his channel give a fantastic insight into the highs and lows of owning a photography van, plus you get to see just how much work is involved in making weekly videos happen.
