5 Common Landscape Photography Mistakes

Landscape photography is a challenging genre that takes a combination of strong technical skills, planning ahead, a keen awareness of conditions, and often, a smidgen of luck. As such, there are a lot of places where things can go a bit wrong and end up derailing your images. This great video tutorial details five such mistakes and how to fix them or avoid them altogether.

Coming to you from Henry Turner, this excellent video tutorial discusses five common mistakes landscape photographers make and how to fix them. One of the most common mistakes I see new landscape photographers make is simply over-processing their photos. One of the wonderful things about landscape photography is that any frame can be taken many different directions depending on how you decide to edit it, but that being said, it is generally good to err on the side of doing less, particularly when it comes to color. There is a fine line between vibrant and over-saturated and gaudy, and as powerful as most editing programs are, it can be easy to cross it. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Turner.
