Do You Really Need a Photography Studio?

When you are working your way up the professional ranks of photography, you might start wondering if you should move into your own studio at some point. This great video examines the idea of whether you really need a studio or if you can continue to work on location.

Coming to you from Hk Visuals, this excellent video discusses the necessity of having your own studio and if you can get away without one. Of course, there are certain genres where a studio is an absolute necessity, but there are others in which it might be more of a convenience, and of course, it then becomes more difficult to decide if you actually should get one or not. For example, I shoot headshots, and while I would certainly find a studio very convenient for lots of reasons (not having to lug around my equipment, for example), I don't shoot enough headshots to justify the investment, and I have no problem making  it work on location.

You can watch the second part of the video below:

What do you think? Do you work in a studio? Could you do without it? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

La verdad que para sacar esas fotos malísimas no se necesita un estudio

Ouch.

Another pithy comment by Mr Lantsov. I hope to read many more in the new year.

half into part I and it's still not clear whether this is really a comparison of two options (based on experience, with examples) or just some self-advertising with a flimsy headline.

That's all these videos are. "Content" made to bump the creatives name up in google search.
