Shooting the bridesmaids is one of the more significant parts of any wedding shoot, apart from photographing the bride and the groom. In fact, you never know, a few of them may end up as your future clients too. Here is Vanessa Joy for Adorama giving her two cents on prepping up to shoot the bridesmaids.
It is always good to start with a casual pose, wherein you can get all the bridesmaids together with the bride and ask them to be at their ease. You can then play around with the poses like asking each of them to look at the bride with a bent angle, and then look around each other in a random manner to create some variety. Crack a joke or two every now and then to keep their spirits and laughter up.
Another good thing about shooting the bridesmaids is that you get to capture a lot of details and accessories. There is so much you can picture in this particular segment. And then you can place the bride in a prominent position with the bridesmaids as the complementing background. There is more to the art of shooting the bridesmaids, so watch the video to get a full run of how Joy puts her thoughts across quick and effective.
