If you're new to photography and trying to learn the foundational principles of subjects like exposure, shutter speed, aperture, or ISO, then this is the video for you. The best part is, unlike many other sources, you won't be alone in learning them!
There is a lot of content out there to choose from when it comes to learning the exposure triangle or the basics of photography. When Sophia purchased a Fujifilm X100VI, she started expressing more interest in learning how to use manual mode with her camera. She kindly volunteered to do exactly that for this video, and thus provide a unique perspective in a very saturated field of content for learning the basics of photography.
Within the video, you'll see that I break down learning shutter speed, aperture, and ISO into two sections: how they manipulate exposure (light), and then how you use them creatively. It's really important to get exposure and understanding capturing light first. Once you fully understand how those settings work in unison with each other, then you can start dabbling in using each one depending on the subject, time of day, or what your creative vision is. I highly recommend shooting in aperture or shutter priority modes with your ISO set to auto when you're starting out.
This way, you don't get too overwhelmed with trying to learn it all at once, and you can practice at your own pace. I'd love to hear your feedback if this unique format was informative to you. Also, feel free to ask any questions you might have in the comments below and I'll do my best to reply.
Good and entertaining video. If I were introducing somebody manual settings, I would show them y'all's video.
Thanks Mike!
