Three Mistakes Landscape Photographers Often Make With a Wide Angle Lens

The wide angle lens is probably the most common tool in any landscape photographer's bag, but it comes with its own unique set of challenges and pitfalls. If you are having trouble creating compelling landscape images with your wide angle lens, this great video discusses three common mistakes and what you can do to correct them.

Coming to you from Perea Photography, this excellent video discusses three common mistakes people make when using a wide angle lens for landscape photography. Personally, the mistake I most often made with wide angle lenses when I was first starting out was backing up and trying to fit everything in the frame. I think it is easy to default to this; after all, when we think of such focal lengths, we generally assume that is what they are for. But this tends to push everything in the image away, and without a foreground element, it can make the frame feel rather empty. It can also make your photo simply too busy and difficult for the viewer to take in. Check out the video above for lots of helpful advice.
