Exposure bracketing is a common technique used to capture the full dynamic range of a scene. If you are new to photography, this excellent video will explain what it is, why photographers use it, and how it is done.
Coming to you from David Bergman with Adorama TV, this great video discusses the concept of exposure bracketing. This is a very common technique, as many scenes you will encounter will have more dynamic range than your sensor can handle, meaning you will have to use multiple exposures to capture it all (most cameras have this function built-in). The thing you have to be careful about with exposure bracketing is any motion between shots, as this can create artefacts, making it difficult to blend the exposures in post. This can be motion introduced by objects or people in the frame, or it can be motion from holding the camera, which is why it is best to use this technique on a tripod. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Bergman.
