This is a Black Skimmer flying fast over the water skimming for food. It was a calm morning with heavy overcast sky and very little breeze on the pond. These birds are very cool to watch and very difficult to photograph. If there are more than one Black Skimmers they fly in formation and its quite a spectacle.

I really love the simplicity and symmetry in this image. However, ther is still so much going on despite its simplicity. The waterline caused by the skimming of the bird intruduces motion to this image. I really dig it!
