So this was shot on a D5300 with a 70-200MM at my local zoo. Like Lee and Patrick said that is a great place to shoot exotic animals and to practice.

Personally, I dislike shooting captive animals, but I didn't let that influence my vote, which was slightly above average. I particularly like the tone difference of the wrinkles. I wish I could see the shadow detail in the eye.
I agree with you on that now looking at it. I dont know why i didn't recovery some of that shadow detail. I chose this shot because to me there was almost emotion in the elephant about him be in captivity if that makes sense
