A continuous level of farm surplus is one of the wellsprings of technological and commercial growth. Yet as urban people we often fail to realise the importance of our local farmers, who carry us as a society on their backs. Without effective agriculture we would have never developed to the point of space exploration or having technology like Tesla cars at our disposal.
This shot was taken in Estonia, Northern Europe, depicting a harvester working on the field. As Estonia is a tiny country and typical farmlands aren't that huge, it was difficult to find a photogenic patch of farmland big enough to fill the frame and give that sense of vastness.
