I'm glad I wasn't around when the story of this meteorite impact took place. The power and size of this site is breathtaking. Nearly 3/4 mi. in diameter and over 500 ft deep, this crater was created 50,000 years ago. I was fortunate enough to be granted brief access after hours to shoot this pano at sunset. A pano was the only way to capture it's size, and I thought the warm colors of the exposed rock contrasted well with the cool sky and moonrise.
