Middle of March, late afternoon, near my house. This female barn own has lost its mate but has a very good hunting ground and could be seen hunting every morning and evening for an hour or so. She had caught a rodent and flown off to the barn to eat, and the barn is by the road. As I was leaving I caught a 2 second glimpse as she dropped down into a sunbeam and I got a couple of frames. R5, 100-500L, 2x extender. 1000mm, f/14, 1/1250s, 3200 ISO.
