On a 67 day, 14,000km photography trip through all of British Columbia, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories I photographed this black bear on the side of the Alaska Highway. It hardly noticed me but looked up as I shouted out "Hey Bear!" when it was just 30 feet from my truck. I stood up on the drivers doorsill and photographed it over the roof in the split second it raised its head. Nikon d850, Nikkor 200-500mm f5.6. Post processing included a small amount of cropping, slight texture added and colour temperature correction. A vignette was used to direct the viewers eye to the face.
