Its easy to get close to the Ibex there, they fill safe.

Wow, this is a stunner! I love the way you were able to render the rugged habitat in the background. What focal length was this shot at, and what aperture was used, to get the distant mountains to be rendered so wonderfully - a most pleasing compromise between sharpness and dreamy blur?

Thanks for the info. This image is an excellent example of the fact that one does NOT have to have the animal small in the frame in order to capture a vast amount of the surrounding habitat. Getting very close to the animal, and shooting at a relatively wide focal length, allows you to get all of that wonderful habitat in the frame and still get the subject very large in the frame. "Close up frame filling portrait" and "environmental portrait" are NOT mutually exclusive!
