A few years ago I saw this abandoned car while looking into the woods from the passenger seat. I knew I wanted fog to be involved but I knew I'd be waiting for Ma Nature to provide it. Time went by as I waited for the ideal conditions to come together.
Finally a foggy morning arrived - no work and nowhere to be, but I had to hurry before the fog burned off. I grabbed my bag and headed towards the site.
There wasn't much fog left around the car but I still wanted to make the most of what was remaining. There wasn't much left of the car either - collapsed roof, missing hood, no wheels, bullet holes.
Though I had brought a powerful strobe and modifiers to set up, I went simplistic instead since I was parked on the shoulder of a busy street. (A trooper did stop to check out my car just as I was finishing up.) I used a single flash placed in various spots around the car - hanging in the crooks of branches, sitting on the hood, etc - and fired the camera remotely once I got out of the frame.
