During earlier visits in Iceland I never visited any Ice caves, when I went earlier this year I didn't regret it one bit.

The Katla Ice Caves truly felt like entering a magical world straight out of Narnia. When I visited in early June the arch was about to collapse, unfortunately it collapsed just a week later. While it was a magical place, it was also a shocking place, the glacier is literally melting away under your feet.

Out of the 6 days I was in Iceland this was the only moment where the sun showed itself, it was right above the arch, lighting up the ice.

Shot on Sony A7RIV with 12-24mm F4.
