This was another photo I shot during the Los Angeles riots on April 30th, 1992. Buildings were burning all around us, and looting was taking place around every corner. This was at the scene of a structure fire at a Payless shoe store near Century Blvd and Hawthorne Blvd. Things were so out of control, that the firefighters could only pour whatever water they could on the blaze from their solo engine and then retreat back to their station for safety.
Crazy times.
Shot on a Nikon N6006 camera with a 50mm f/1.8 G lens on TMax 400 black and white film. Settings were not recorded, but I'm fairly certain I was shooting in manual mode.
