2.36 - "Needs Work"

This was taken with my Nikon D750 and Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 lens, in July 2020. I had this camera for about 1,5 year. My 24-70mm broke after falling down a cliff, and it was unrepairable. Due to Covid and long delivery times on camera gear, it were several months to get a new lens. But my camera shop just had the Nikon Z6_II arrived in feb 2022. Sold the D750 and bought the new mirrorless kit.

This photo is taken in middle of Norway at a granite railroad bridge. Finished in 1923 after 3 years work of only 12 men. In 1945 a military operation by british spesial forces, tried to destroy it, so the german forces were hindered traveling down the valley by train. They failed to destroy it, it was to well build. You can see the filled in concrete mark on the second pillar.

I have photographed this bridge a few times before, but this time I wanted the train on the bridge. As I live about 6,5 hours away by car, and the train only passes twice a day, it needed a little planning. Arrived only 20 min before the last train of the day. Rigged up my camera on the tripod and waited. When the train arrive from behind there is no warning. The river noise is to loud to hear the train, and it's not possible to see it from where I were standing. Luckily I brought my daughter along and she went on the other side to lookout with mobile phone and shouted when it was arriving.

The camera on continuous shooting as it came fast. 1/200sec, f13, iso 100, 24mm
