2.79 - "Solid"

In 1982, the J.J. Kelly Indians from the town of Wise, in the heart of the Virginia coalfields, were down 2-1 with two outs and a man on third in the bottom of the 7th inning in the Class A State Championship Game against Essex High School. High school games only went seven innings, so it was do or die. The man on third was Bobby Tiller, smallest player on the team. With no warning, he stole home, diving under the attempted tag by the opposing catcher. Game tied. Kelly scored in the next inning, achieving their second consecutive Class A State Championship. Processed in Adobe Camera Raw and PhotoShop. Present camera is Nikon Z8.
