Pinup Fun

Captured with my Canon 6D and trusty Tamron 24-70mm lens, this pinup shot of a lovely lady in blue—complete with a fabulous wide-brimmed hat—was taken in a sun-drenched park on an absolute scorcher of a day. With the temperature pushing 40 degrees, shooting in the middle of the day made lighting a real challenge, as the harsh sunlight created strong shadows and highlights that needed some careful wrangling. Despite the heat and tricky conditions, the vintage vibe and setting came together beautifully for a fun, summery pinup look.

Seems indecisive over what elements should be included in the frame. Most of the objects along the bottom are chopped off so we have no idea if they're part of the story or not. Despite the care and planning which undoubtedly went into the photo, the whole setting feels kind of forced and artificial. As you said, lighting was harsh, which might have given me reason to abandon the shoot from the start, or try to minimize the deep shadows with some sort of diffusion material between the sun and your subject.
