For this portrait of a woman who was starting her own business, I put her against a white paper background siting on an apple box. I shot her at a lower angle, looking up at her to give her a powerful demeanor. The background was lit with two Paul C. Buff Einstein lights in large soft boxes while the key light was an Alien Bee AB800 ring light inside a large moon unit soft box, placed above and to the right of the subject. That AB800 and moon unit combo is my secret weapon for so many things. I shot this with a Canon 5D MKIII and the 24-70 2.8 L lens around 50mm, ISO 100 . The background gradient was composited in PhotoShop as was the gold bars she's sitting on.
