Barn Swallow hunting sequence. This was taken with an A9 at 20fps with the 100-400GM. This is a good example for why the A9 convinced Canon and Nikon that mirrorless was the way to go. The full sequence of shots taken totaled 15 so this portion consist of about 1/4th of a second. The fact that the AF area covers 95% of the frame really allows for a much better hit rate than DSLRs with the small center area only. Still doesn't make capturing swallows in flight easy.
The goal of this outing was to see if I could capture a swallow just as it was about to eat an insect. I think this sequence of one approaching then bouncing the insect off it's back is better than what I had hoped for.
