Nikon D600 - Nikkor 24-85 @ 45mm - ISO 640 - 1/250 - f/6.3
Nothing softens light like Wisconsin's gray winter skies. This morning I awoke to a world covered in hoarfrost and a sky that looked like a giant softbox. I saw this image where everything was black and white with brown being the only color. The perimeter brush along the road made it necessary to wade through a knee-deep barrier created by snow plows to get to a small meadow-like clearing for this shot. The light is so diffused that there are no shadows - even on the white snow.

Will and Richard, Thank you for the “likes.”
Why not convert totally to black and white?
Ed, The point of allowing the brown to remain was to emphasize that the blacks and whites were true representations of the scene rather than created by manipulation. My choice.
