"Titanium at Dusk"
made this photograph to show how Bilbao’s riverfront binds engineering, architecture, and sculpture. The viewpoint keeps the La Salve Bridge, the Guggenheim, and two outdoor works—Bourgeois’s Maman and Kapoor’s Tall Tree & the Eye—in one conversation. Working at dusk let Gehry’s titanium hold a warm, metallic glow while the sky stayed soft. A long exposure simplified the Nervión, removing surface chop and isolating form and material: steel, concrete, glass. I exposed for the highlights to preserve the gold tone on the façade and kept lines clean so the eye can move left to right—from bridge to museum to sculpture—echoing the city’s shift from industry to culture. No tricks; just timing, patience, and stable footing on the riverwalk.
