Shot this in May of 2020 in my small studio while bored during covid. Model was a girl I was dating at the time - now wife of almost 5 years.
Main light is just a strobe bouncing into a white polyboard. Fill light was just a strobe bouncing into the studio walls behind me. Used a vflat to flag off keylight a bit to create more depth and focus the light in the subject rather than the background.
Dress was just a simple tulle skirt from amazon that we fluffed up while she was topless. Flowers are also just from amazon. Box was a apple box from craft store along with some Spanish moss. 3 bottles of Korbel fit the box perfectly. Most of the stuff was already around my studio and was just kind of styled together.
Floor is actually a false floor I built in the years prior with some weathered wood from home depot and some 2x4s. My studios natural floor is an ugly boring yellow pine hardwood. So this false floor was something that was more interesting.
Backdrop is a beige canvas backdrop from Artery Backdrops.
Camera was an older Hasselblad 553ELD and a older Phase One P45 back. Lens was a 80mm f2.8 CF. On that particular digital back the 35mm equivalent would have been about 56mm. I believe I shot this somewhere around f8/f11

I really like this photo, but I do not understand the bottles there :D
To me they just kind of symbolize and suggest elegance, wealth. They fit the color palette and tonality of things. The flowers suggest romance. The ladder is more of a posing aid than anything - but its weathered wood appearance fits the look of set well.
I know people are rating this photo highly, but I think it is a mishmash of different things that are unrelated. I can see the work that went into getting this picture, but I just think the various elements don't fit together well.
