This image was taken in Monterey, CA. I rented a Sigma 60-600mm lens and used my Sony A7rV. I took a trip to Monterey and visited several locations taking photographs. I located this seagull standing on a rock at Lover's Point. I then began trying to get as close as I could, while using the zoom at 600mm to obtain this photograph. I took this photograph without a tripod and used the neck strap and my body for stabilization. I did not want to crop in and lose image sizing, so I slowly walked towards him until I was able to get this photograph of just his head. I did have to downsize the image for this contest as its original size was 9504 × 6336, 28.2 MB
Camera: Sony Alpha 7RV
Lens: Sigma 60mm-600mm Sport
I used Adobe Lightroom to mask and edit the exposure of the seagull's eye.
Thank you for putting on these contests to better our photography skills.
