This was shot during blue hour. I wanted to have natural light to fill in the shadows so I shot at f/2 at low speed in conjunction with strobes.
Here is the eagle named Tyla that moved heaven and earth to not stay on the model's arm, with the narrow field of view of the 105mm it was a real pain to have everything fall into place. Also the big bird's agitation didn't help the model in staying focused on posing so I had to constantly remind him to hit the pose.
This photo was taken when Tyla was tired and out of breath, at that moment we managed to get less than 10 good shots until the falconer decided to switch to another bird.
A flash strobe with a CTO gel is behind the leaves of the weeping willow to backlight the scene in addition to the softbox keylight.
