This small mountain pine has stood for many years. It has been cut with knifes and branches chopped off by various hikers, etc., but it still stands.
This evening it became the subject of the photo as the sun set into the sea.

It takes me about 10 minutes to walk from my house and up to this small tree. I was at home and saw the light started building up in the clouds, grabbed my Nikon Z6II, 24-120mm and a tripod, and managed to set up just before the sun set in the horizon. Three photos bracketed, and used the underexposed one for the tree, because there was strong wind and I froze the branches with 1/640sec at ISO200 ...removed a couple of electric power lines in the top left corner in Photoshop, and final edit in LrC.

It is absolutely one of my favorite photos from 2025
