¨Cornices¨ was shot in a hurry. I was part of a team running an expedition operation in the antarctic, in a bay called Charlotte, west of the peninsula. The clouds were sitting super low, and didn't look like a great opportunity for shooting, but, yet again, the antarctic proved to be full of surprises. Somewhat during the middle of the operation a higher layer of clouds starting rising, while the foggy layer down below remained, and for a few moments there was a view of the tops of the mountains on the other side of the bay. I scanned for the line that made graphical sense, knowing that a form of high key show was due. The editing was done respecting the non-pure-white of the clouds above and the slightly darker layer of fog underneath.
It was taken on a Nikon Z8 with the Nikon 180-600 Z lens.
