This photo was taken a couple years ago in Valley of Fire State Park in Arizona. We intended on just driving thru and this ended up being a highlight of our trip. One of the common comments of the park is the photos do not do it justice and that is so true, the rocks are much red(er) than they appear. Anyways this is just off the main roadway as you can see, I kept the road in there as I felt it represents how close we sometimes are to beauty yet we don't always stop to appreciate it. We were taking portraits on the other side of the road when the sun poked through the clouds hitting the red rock towards the horizon, looked surreal. This was shot on a D750, 35mm f/1.4G. Most of the editing was simply increasing contrast to the sky.
