I was walking on a raised walkway through a swamp in a wildlife refuge looking to photograph sandhill cranes when I stopped and saw this image. I braced the camera on the handrail and took the shot all the while being eaten alive by mosquitoes and gnats. The water color was enhanced slightly in post but the oils (swamp oil or bog oil) from decaying leaves and the Cyprus trees gave off this iridescent blue color much like the refection of the sky.
